Our First Child - Ker-Vie

10 Mar 2002 will forever be etched on my mind as it was the day before Ker-Vie was born. Even though it was six years ago, everything is still vividly clear as though it only happened yesterday.

I remembered that morning Hui Min felt a bit of discomfort due to minor contractions and she has the feeling that Ker-Vie is ready to come. As Ker-Vie is our first child and both of us didn't have any experience at all, Hui Min felt a bit nervous and therefore refused to be admitted to the hospital. I wanted to make her feel more comfortable, hence I tried distracting her by putting on a movie which I bought a few days ago. The movie was "Fat Choi Spirit 哩咕哩咕新年财" starring Andy Lau, Gigi Leung, Lau Ching-wan and Louis Koo. After we finished watching Disc 1, we had fishball noodles for brunch. Hui Min then took a warm bath and we headed to hospital.

We reached Hospital Pantai, Bangsar at about 12pm. After we have registered, we went up to labour ward. Hui Min changed her clothes and waited inside the ward. The nurse came to check Hui Min and to see how much she has dilated. The dilation at that time was only 2cm. The nurse told us not to worry and that the baby would still take quite a while to make her grand entrance. She said that we can take a rest first. The nurse also strapped the fetal monitor onto Hui Min's tummy to monitor the baby's heartbeat.

At about 6pm, Hui Min's gynae Dr. Choong came to check on her, and told us that she has dilated up to 4cm during the afternoon. He then broke Hui Min's amniotic sac so that labour could progress faster. After her water broke, Hui Min started experiencing major contractions. From 6pm till midnight, she was in such great pain that she has to rely on the gas for pain relief.

When Hui Min has fully dilated, Dr Choong prepared to welcome the baby. However, due to the baby's size and Hui Min's difficulty in pushing her out, Dr Choong recommended the use of the vacuum to assist in easing the baby out of the birth canal. Past midnight, Ker-Vie was finally born, healthy and perfect at 3.8kg.

When they grow up, at least they know what is going on from day one to now thru reading my blog.

The blog title shown "一个好爸爸" doesn't means i'm a good father .. is juz that "好" means a daughter & a son.

Trapped in the Lift at KLCC

Farewell to the 170 Gals

...... 哈哈哈!!!

A.R.A. Libertad

THE frigate A.R.A. Libertad, a training ship from Argentina, will be welcoming visitors on board when it anchors at Pulau Indah, Port Klang, on June 28 and 29.

Visitors need only show their identification cards to board the vessel between 2pm and 5pm during the ship’s Open Day at the National Hydrographic Centre, Bandar Armada Putra in Pulau Indah.

The vessel will remain in Malaysia until June 30.

Today, I went to Port Klang with my family and to board the vessel.

ARA Libertad (Q-2) is a tall ship which serves as a school ship in the Argentine Navy. She was built in the 1950s at the Rio Santiago shipyards near Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her maiden voyage was in 1962, and she continues to be a school ship with yearly instruction voyages for the graduating naval cadets.

This is the entrance to the National Hydrographic Centre, Bandar Armada Putra in Pulau Indah.
Here is the security house. The visits time is from 2pm to 5pm. We were waited here until 2pm, then only allowed to go in. We drove in and parked the car here, the National Hydrographic Centre. From the security house to here is about 1km.
The difference view of the National Hydrographic Centre.
This is the 望远台。We walked about 500meter to reach the Libertad. The weather was hot and we forgot to bring umbrella.
We almost reached the Libertad.
We took some photos before we went on board. The gold-plated statue in front of the Libertad. I guessed she is Libertad.
The side-view of Liberted.
The front-view of Libertad.
When we were on boarded, we saw this banting in front of the entrance.
Here is the center of Libertad. We saw a lot of rigs. The ropes are use to tighten the sail-clothes.
This is one of the mast.
We saw ropes everywhere.
We only allowed to walked around the vessel but could not enter the cabin. The vessel is well maintain and very clean. Even every sailor wear very tidy and the sailor suit is pure white with white shoes and some of them are very tall and handsome. Haha.
