JD was enrolled in the Yamaha Junior Music Course (JMC). This coming Saturday will be his 2nd lesson. Every lesson is 1 hr.
JMC focuses on the development well-rounded musical ability – through listening, singing, keyboard/piano playing, reading, writing, and creating. Course areas including Solfege, Singing, Lyric Singing, Keyboard Games, Repertoire, Ensemble (singing, rhythm, and keyboard), Harmony/Arrangement, Music Appreciation, Rhythm Training and Workbook(Reading/Writing).
The course takes two years to complete and consists of 4 levels. In these two years, I need to accompany JD for every lesson. Not bad also, because I can learn together... pay one price for two person attend ... hahaha!!!
These are the course materials for Level 1 (First 6 mths).
JD is playing the organ.

I miss my organ!!! I wonder whether they hv classes for seniors like me? ;-)
cool! do you plan to let him learn other musical instruments such as piano or violin? what about KV? she shows any interest in music?
i think is one by one .....
1 class have how many students there?
Chooi Lee: Yes, they got classes for adults, if not mistaken, it's about RM90 per month (45mins).
Sarah: I'll let JD finish this 2 yrs course first then only will decide other musical instruments.
梦想罐头 : In JD's class got 8 students. 7 boys & 1 girl.
我也是喜欢雅马哈的课程,但是现在两个孩子要带他们去比较麻烦。。
明年我也打算让我的女儿去参加。
Potato: 那时候, 妈妈也可以和女儿一起学音乐了!
Just some advice.
Remember to let JD listen to CD everyday or atleast 4 to 5 times per week. without doing so, they may not be able to cope with their hearing after 2 years, besides, make sure they sing while playing. It helps a lot.
